Alice, Gill and Belle

Our ex-racehorse, Belle, was diagnosed with kissing spines. She had surgery on three spinal processes at Willesley Equine Clinic.

After the surgery, Kazia Equine Rehabilitation took Belle on full livery and worked with her over a twelve week period. Following the initial post op box rest, Belle required a very specific programme of rehabilitation. This started with 4-6 weeks of hand walking building up gradually to lunging her in the school. After a lot of intensive work, Belle was able to be ridden again. This rehabilitation was complicated by Belle having gastric ulcers. This was something Kazia noticed and accompanied us back to the clinic where Belle required an endoscopy.

Due to Alice focusing on academia rather than horses, Belle became a happy hacker when she came home rather than a competition horse, but as you can see from the pictures, she's a very happy hacker.

"We are both very pleased with Kazia's work rehabilitating Belle and know that without her invaluable help, Belle would not be with us today. Kazia continues to see Belle every 6 months as part of her routine care." Alice and Gill
